The Story of a Chicago Haunting Finally Told!
A Chicago Haunting finally Exposed!
Paranormal History
freePRnow.com, 8/09/2011 -
There was once a very haunted house in Chicago. It was 1971 and NBC and a nationally known psychic, Joseph DeLouise converged on a building on Chicago’s north side. Author Tom Valentine investigated it, and it was such an active haunting that an exorcist, Rev. William Derl-Davis from England, was brought to assist, because of the possibility that a demon might be resident. A portion of this effort was televised and reported on by prominent journalist, Carole Simpson. Being the first televised exorcism, it seemed strange that this event was never fully publicized and little was said about the results of their efforts. Rev. William Derl-Davis refused interviews. Joseph DeLouis the psychic, other than a short interview on the Jack Eigen radio show, never talked about it. It always seemed strange that unlike other paranormal events, no one sought media attention or attempted to capitalize on it. Not even the young couple that owned it and eventually literally “gave” it away, wanted to discuss any part of it! Finally the story is told! True Haunting, by Edwin F. Becker, is a compelling story of how a young couple dealt with ghostly events. Unlike the fabricated and Hollywood enhanced stories, this chronicles how spirits can have a sense of domain and resent having their territory violated. Nothing is as frightening as reality. Nonfiction, Becker knows, because the house was his! Not to give the story away, the reason no one talked was because all efforts failed. This story has no happy ending. Whether Psychic, writer, priest, exorcist or media, no one wanted to spend time with the walls of this building. Many suffered frightening after effects. If you want a glimpse of what a true haunting is like and how it can rain emotional turmoil. This is a must read! Kat Higdon.
