For many people, their first encounter with the healthcare system is when crisis strikes. A parent has a stroke, someone in the family is diagnosed with a serious illness or a loved-one has an accident. It’s a stressful time and a time when all involved need a helping and reassuring hand to navigate the complexities of the healthcare system. This is where the new service iCare Navigator comes in. It is a Healthcare Advocacy and Navigation Service that provides support and education to patients and their family members about the ins and outs of the healthcare system. If patients and their family members have questions or concerns about care or available programs, this service knows how the system works.
Rick Menassa, President of iCare Home Health said: “We’ve worked with an enormous number of families and have seen lots of people struggle to quickly find effective solutions for their family members when a health crisis hits. We wanted to bridge this gap which is why we’ve added iCare Navigator to our offering.”
The list of services iCare Navigator can provide is wide-ranging, from helping to arrange elder care services, researching medical conditions, accompanying individuals to medical appointments, assisting to bring forward concerns about care and discussions to negotiate insurance claims.
Tom Ahlin, Vice President of iCare Navigator explains: “There is quite a long list of things that families potentially struggle to cope with when they need to timely access the healthcare system; it can feel like a whirlwind. We inject knowledge and confidence into dealings with outside agencies and organizations to ensure that families and businesses achieve the best resolutions and appropriate options for their needs. We educate clients and their family members on specific healthcare laws and regulations which can affect access to services.”
Indeed businesses also welcome guidance when it comes to potential injury and insurance claims. For example, in this instance, iCare Navigator can help provide companies with Expert Opinions regarding all of the processes involved such as administrative documentation, policies and procedures and the appropriate standard of care that is required in the circumstances. iCare Navigator also provides Expert Opinion on Medical cases and Second Opinion from top doctors network of experts.
