The Academy has 11 air-conditioned rooms, indoor and outdoor practical training grounds, and an auditorium for 300 people.
Course Prerequisites
The course is open to anyone who wants to become a certified boom lift operator. Trainees must have basic knowledge of the MEWP industry. They must also have Mathematics and Language abilities at a proficiency level of Employability Skills System (ESS) Level 3 and above. Moreover, trainees must be medically fit to work at heights.
Course Objective
Galmon’s boom lift operator course will provide trainees with essential knowledge and skills, as well as train them on the right attitude, to operate boom lifts safely.
Course Modules
The course will follow three modules focusing on preparation requirements in boom lift operations, hands-on boom lift operations, and post-operation requirements. The trainees will undergo theory lessons, safety classes, as well as practical training.
Course Duration
The course will last for nine hours, including a one-hour assessment. Trainers use English, Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil as mediums of instruction.
Certification
After completing the training course, the trainees will get a WSQ Statement of Attainment for Operate Boom Lift. This certification is valid for up to five years.
The Singapore Government, as well as international organisations such as the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA) and the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), accredit all courses that Galmon Academy offers.
